Oyer Park Waterfront

Alexis Knight Architects developed a comprehensive project development and assessment study for the proposed waterfront improvements at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park for the City of Boynton Beach. The initiative explores the redevelopment of the park’s former fishing pier area into an enhanced public waterfront destination featuring a new fishing pier, recreational beach, accessible kayak launch, pedestrian connections, landscaping, lighting, and supporting amenities.

The conceptual plan centers on an approximately 200-foot fishing pier, designed with durable marine-grade materials and accessible circulation, along with improvements connecting the new waterfront amenities to the existing park. AKA’s study also addresses site restoration, shoreline conditions, accessibility, structural requirements, environmental considerations, and the local, state, and federal permitting framework required for the project.

Designed around accessibility, sustainability, and public recreation, the proposed improvements seek to strengthen the relationship between the park and the Intracoastal Waterway while creating new opportunities for fishing, kayaking, waterfront access, and community use.
